At Sunsonite we specialise in lab‑grown diamond jewellery and only work with stones graded between D and F in colour and VS clarity for exceptional brilliance and quality.

Are lab‑grown diamonds real diamonds?

Yes. Lab‑grown diamonds are chemically and physically identical to natural diamonds. They are certified in the same way as mined stones and possess the same sparkle, hardness and beauty. The main difference is their origin: they are created above ground using cutting‑edge technology, which makes them a more ethical and environmentally friendly choice.

How long does delivery take?

Most of our lab‑grown diamond pieces are made to order with a lead time of 2–3 working days. Once your order is complete, we’ll ship it promptly and provide tracking information. For bespoke designs or items requiring special sizing, additional production time may apply. You can always see the most up‑to‑date lead times on the individual product pages.

What if I need a different ring size?

We offer complimentary ring sizing on most engagement rings. If you need a different size than what is listed, please leave a note at checkout or contact us at brooklyn@sunsonite.com and we will make the necessary adjustments. Some designs may require an additional fee for resizing.

Do you accept returns or exchanges?

We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If you’re not delighted with your jewellery, please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order to request a return or exchange. Custom designs or pieces that have been engraved or altered may not be eligible for return. For full details, please refer to our returns policy on the website.

Do your lab‑grown diamonds come with certification?

Yes. Every Sunsonite lab‑grown diamond is accompanied by an independent grading certificate from a recognised gemological laboratory. This certificate details the stone’s carat weight, colour, clarity and cut, giving you peace of mind about the authenticity and quality of your purchase.

What payment methods do you accept?

Do you ship internationally?

We currently ship to all major centres within South Africa. If you are located outside of South Africa and wish to purchase our jewellery, please contact us at brooklyn@sunsonite.com for a custom shipping quote and arrangement.

Are lab‑grown diamonds more affordable than natural diamonds?

In most cases, yes. Lab‑grown diamonds can be 20–40 percent less expensive than comparable mined stones because they do not require large‑scale mining operations. This affordability allows you to invest in a higher carat weight or better quality diamond within your budget.

Do you offer a warranty?

We stand behind the craftsmanship of our jewellery. All Sunsonite pieces carry a 12‑month warranty against manufacturing defects. This does not cover damage caused by misuse, wear and tear or loss of stones. Please refer to our warranty policy or contact us for details.

How should I care for my lab‑grown diamond jewellery?

To keep your jewellery sparkling, we recommend cleaning it regularly with warm soapy water and a soft brush, then drying thoroughly with a lint‑free cloth. Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals such as bleach or chlorine and store your pieces separately in a soft pouch to prevent scratching.

Do you offer insurance for my jewellery?

We do not sell insurance directly, but we strongly recommend insuring your jewellery for loss, theft or accidental damage. Many household insurers provide specialised jewellery cover. Please speak to your insurance provider to add your Sunsonite pieces to your policy.

Are your lab‑grown diamonds conflict‑free?

Absolutely. Lab‑grown diamonds are inherently conflict‑free because they are created in a laboratory environment rather than mined in conflict zones. By choosing lab‑grown stones, you can be confident that your diamond has an ethical origin.

How can I track my order?

What is the difference between a lab‑grown diamond and cubic zirconia?

A lab‑grown diamond is a real diamond with the same chemical, physical and optical properties as a mined stone. Cubic zirconia (CZ) is a diamond simulant made from zirconium dioxide. CZ is softer and less durable than diamond and does not have the same brilliance or light performance. At Sunsonite we exclusively use lab‑grown diamonds in our jewellery.
